National Media Museum visit in Bradford

Photography is both a window and a mirror, sharping our vision of the world and of worlds beyond our vision.

Photography can make us laugh or cry, rejoice at the beauty of our work or despair at its ugliness. It challenges time and space capturing the present and preserving the past.

Photography is an invaluable tool from fighting crime to fighting cancer. To see your baby during the pregnancy.

Photography is big business.
In Britain 3,000 million photographs are taken during a period of year. Laid to the end, these snap-shots would stretch as far as the Moon.

Snowball in your face (:

I got sms from Latvia, that it is snowing there! (:

11th of November

In many contries this day is selebrated as Remembrance Day to recall the end of World War I.
Right now I am in Leeds and lots of people have a Poppy nearby their hearts. Why a Poppy? It was the first plant that could grow on blood sheded field. Beauty and strength of this weed has become a symbol to commemorate the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and of civilians in times of war.

Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice. At 11:00 am even everyday locations such as supermarkets and banks may invite their customers and staff to fall silent .

On the 11th of November Latvians commemorate the victory over the Bermontians at the battle of Riga during the Freedom Struggles in 1918. It is called Lāčplēsis Day (Latvian: Lāčplēša Diena).

This Year will be the first year I'll be celebrating Lāčplēsis Day not only putting fire candles and on the front wall of Riga Castle, but also with a Poppy on my twitter: http://bit.ly/3SMf1P

If I were a boy...

If I were I boy, (Beyoncé, you are great, but this time I'm not writting about you. You can still try to invite me for a tea) during my primary school I would like to be a custodian at the Royal Armouries Museum.
From one side smell of blood, power and battles, from the other beautifully made weapons as works of art and advances in technology
What is war and beauty about?
